PAT'S JOURNAL OF SHORT FICTION:

THE BOY ON THE BUS

THE BAG LADY

THE SON

Welcome to SEANACHUS

McBain’s Etymological Dictionary of Scottish-Gaelic:
Seanachas: conversation, story, Irish seanachas,
seanchus, tale, history, genealogy…

I’m Pat Richards… the other half of the Jim and Pat

combo… the salt to Jim’s pepper… a matched pair.

My passion is writing stories: small fictions.

As Barry Lopez said in the “Crow and the Weasel”:

“Remember only this one thing…

These stories people tell have a way of
taking care of them. If stories come to you,
care for them. And learn to give them
away where they are needed.

Sometimes a person needs a story
more than food to stay alive.
That is why we put these stories
in each other’s memory. This is
how people care for themselves.
Never forget these obligations.”

So… my goal for Seanachus is to share stories.
